Who Let The Dads Out? is a growing movement that resources churches to reach out to dads, father figures and their children. We believe that to ‘turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers’ (Malachi 4:6, NIV 1984) is a powerful way ‘to make ready a people prepared for the Lord’ (Luke 1:17).

We want to see churches creating spaces where dads, father figures and their children can have fun together, and is founded on the Christian principle of wanting to demonstrate God’s love to communities. I started a Who let the Dads Out? group in March 2012, the day before Mother’s Day. We started with about 5 dads and 8 children and grew the group over 4 years to over 40 dads on the register and 60 children. The aim of the group was to come alongside the dads and build up relationships with Christian men in the church who were volunteers. We had 7 dedicated volunteers who committed to one morning per month for this really important ministry. I am delighted the group that I helped set up is still now going and reaching more dads/male carers.

I am also the regional rep in Cumbria for Who Let the Dads Out. Contact me if you’re interested in setting up a group in your area.
